Not something you see every day, but the owner of the Queens Daimler is selling it this week. It was purchased in 2005 by an enthusiast, and is rare in that it was modified especially for the Queen. Whilst in the back of the car, she disliked the wind blowing directly at her face, so they installed another switch that made it easy for her to control the windows on the other side of the car. She also had an armrest modified by Jaguar, so that she would have somewhere safe to put her handbag when she was driving with a passenger. The armrest has a sliding option to put the Bag, and then partially slide back to hold it in place.
Sold by the palace in 2005 as it was deemed surplus to requirements, the car has a secure telephone to Downing Street in the boot, and padded leather inserts to stop the corgis sliding off the calf skin seats. Other extras in the vehicle include blue emergency convoy lights and flashing strobe lamps, and the car has limited mileage as it was rarely used on the roads, only used for the Queen to travel around the Windsor estate.
So if you are in the market for a new car then here is a sterling option, although guarantees of Cheap Car Insurance are very unlikely.
